What Are the Best Sweepy Alternatives? Five Apps Compared

Five cleaning apps that could replace Sweepy, compared on platforms, how they are paid for, who they suit and where they fall short, checked on their store listings.

The app icons of Tody, House Chores, Tidy, BeTidy and ADHD Cleaning Planner, with Sweepy faded as the app being replaced.

Short answer

Sweepy has several alternatives, and the right one depends on what you need. Tody suits most people who dislike fixed dates, House Chores and BeTidy suit households that share chores, Tidy suits a simple checklist, and ADHD Cleaning Planner, which we make, suits people with ADHD who struggle to start. All five are free to download.

We make ADHD Cleaning Planner, which is one of the apps in this comparison. We have tried to be fair to all of them, including where another app is the better choice. Sweepy is the app you are presumably moving away from, so it is the reference point here, but it is not one of the five we compare in depth.

If you are looking for an alternative to Sweepy, you probably want one of three things: a schedule that decides what to clean, a way to share chores with the people you live with, or an app that makes it easier to start. The five apps below cover those to different degrees. If you want a head-to-head first, we have compared Sweepy and Tody directly, and the wider field of cleaning apps is in a separate article.

What is Tody good at?

Tody app icon

Tody describes itself as a to-do list for household cleaning routines, and it does not work from fixed dates. Each task shows an indicator of how much it needs doing, and there are no deadlines. Notifications are optional. Household members can sync plans and check in to claim credit, and the newest update adds Reports, an overview of cleaning progress that can be shared with the household. On the App Store it is rated 4.8 from about 11,000 ratings.

Tody suits people who find a calendar stressful and would rather see what needs attention. If you want a routine designed for a bad week, the ADHD cleaning routine that survives a bad week covers that separately.

The less good side: in public reviews we analysed in June 2026, people asked for more precise scheduling, such as a fixed day of the month, which the indicator model does not offer. A recurring complaint was that adding a partner or a second device meant paying for Premium. Some reviewers also reported syncing problems when they moved to a new phone.

Best for: most people who want an app to decide what is due by need, and who are happy to pay if they want to share.

What is House Chores good at?

House Chores app icon

House Chores Cleaning Schedule works with room-based checklists and preset tasks. Its listing describes rotation between household members, team assignments, a Vacation Mode, daily reminders, and syncing across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. It is rated 4.8 from about 3,000 ratings on the App Store, which is a smaller count than Tody or Sweepy.

House Chores suits families who want to hand out tasks and rotate them, especially if you use an Apple Watch. The store lists monthly, yearly and lifetime purchases, at $5.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $109.99 once in the US, with no free trial shown.

The less good side: in public reviews we analysed in June 2026, sign-in through Google or Facebook, with no email option, was one of the most common complaints. Paid features for adding family members came up often too. Some reviewers also reported that reminders did not always arrive.

Best for: families and shared homes that want task rotation, and who are comfortable signing in with a social account.

What is Tidy good at?

Tidy app icon

Tidy calls itself a simple planner for keeping track of cleaning and everyday tasks. Its listing mentions an automatically generated daily checklist, progress tracking and seasonal checklists, with a subscription that adds a personal cleaning plan and premium content. It is rated 4.7 from about 1,900 ratings on the App Store.

Tidy suits people who want a plain checklist and are willing to pay for a fuller version. The store listing shows different subscription prices in two places, so check the price in the app before you commit.

The less good side: our June 2026 analysis of reviews was small, with 144 reviews, so treat the pattern with care. Within that sample, the most common complaint was the paywall, including being asked to pay before testing the app.

Best for: people who want a simple checklist and do not mind a paid tier.

What is BeTidy good at?

BeTidy app icon

BeTidy builds a yearly cleaning plan and a daily task list from the chores you add, with optional notifications. Its listing describes shared family profiles for assigning tasks and a points system that ranks completed tasks. It is rated 4.6 from 268 ratings on the App Store, and the store lists it as iPhone only, although it is also on Google Play.

Reviews on the App Store praise the calm design, the widget and the way tasks rotate between people in a shared home. Reviewers also mentioned that onboarding is hard when you add many tasks at once, and asked for swipe to complete a task. BeTidy suits iPhone households that want to split tasks.

The less good side: in our June 2026 review analysis, the most common complaints about BeTidy were about the paywall, with reminders and family features sitting in Pro.

Best for: iPhone households that want to rotate and split chores.

What is ADHD Cleaning Planner good at?

ADHD Cleaning Planner app icon

ADHD Cleaning Planner is the app we make, so read this section with that in mind. It is built for people with ADHD and breaks cleaning into small tasks, organised room by room. Its listing describes a "Help, I can't start!" button with a countdown tailored to the room you choose, before and after photos, timelapse videos, a timer, daily reminders, ten levels of gamification. Its version notes mention a Home Screen widget. The app is rated 4.8 from 98 ratings on the App Store.

It suits people with ADHD who struggle with starting cleaning at all, rather than with knowing what to clean. The optional photo steps send the photo you choose to an AI service, after you agree; the app's privacy text explains how this works, so read it before you use the feature.

Best for: people with ADHD who struggle to start, and who plan to keep the plan to themselves.

Where ADHD Cleaning Planner falls short

Compared with the others in this article, our main limitation is household sharing. The listing does not describe sharing a plan with other people, or giving each person their own daily tasks. Tody, House Chores, BeTidy and Sweepy do, so if you are dividing chores in a home, they will serve you better.

Which one should you choose?

  • You want an app that decides what is due by need: Tody, which has the most ratings of the five and offers household sharing.
  • You share chores in a family and want rotations: House Chores, especially if you use an Apple Watch, or BeTidy if you are on iPhone.
  • You want a simple checklist and do not mind paying for more: Tidy.
  • Starting is your hardest part and you live alone: ADHD Cleaning Planner, which we make. It does not share plans with other people, so it is a poor fit for a household.
