Short answer

Sweepy is the better choice for couples and families: it splits chores between household members, makes a daily schedule for each person and has a leaderboard. ADHD Cleaning Planner, which we make, suits people with ADHD who clean on their own and struggle to start, with tiny steps, an energy setting and no account. Both are free to download.

We make ADHD Cleaning Planner, which is one of the two apps in this comparison. We have tried to be fair to both, including where Sweepy is the better choice, and it is for a lot of homes.

Sweepy and ADHD Cleaning Planner both split a home into rooms and rooms into tasks, both turn cleaning into a bit of a game, and both are free to download with a paid upgrade. They are built for different people, though. Sweepy is made for a household that wants the work shared out. ADHD Cleaning Planner is made for one person with ADHD who knows what needs doing and still cannot get going. If you want Sweepy measured against its best-known rival instead, we have compared Sweepy and Tody directly.

Quick comparison

We checked the public store listings on 23 October 2026. Prices differ by country and change often, so the table describes how each app is paid for rather than the price.

ADHD Cleaning PlanneriPhone, iPad, AndroidFree, with a subscription or one-time lifetime purchase

The difference in size is large. Sweepy is rated 4.7 from about 11,000 ratings on the App Store and 4.5 from about 18,500 on Google Play, where it shows more than a million downloads. ADHD Cleaning Planner is rated 4.8 from 104 ratings on the App Store and 4.4 from 73 on Google Play, with more than 5,000 downloads there.

What is Sweepy good at?

Sweepy tracks how clean each room in your home is and which tasks are most urgent, and then does the planning for you. Its listings say it distributes the workload among the people in your home and automatically generates a daily schedule for each of them. It syncs between devices, shows your progress, and has a leaderboard where everyone in the house competes for the top spot. It also has an Apple Watch app.

That household side is where Sweepy is strongest. In public reviews we analysed in June 2026, couples and families praised the leaderboard for turning chores into a friendly competition and for ending arguments about who did what. Reviewers also often called Sweepy easy to use, and said it took the job of keeping track of the house off their minds. Many people with ADHD were among those fans, even though Sweepy does not present itself as an ADHD app.

Less good: in those same June 2026 reviews, the most common complaint was about what is free. Reviewers said the daily schedule, custom tasks and adding family members were part of the subscription, which some found out only after setting up their whole home, and several felt the 3-day trial was too short to judge the app. Another recurring complaint was that an account is needed before you can try the app. On the day we checked, the Google Play version was last updated on 10 November 2025.

Best for: couples and families who want the app to share out the chores and hand each person a plan for the day, especially if a scoreboard motivates them.

What is ADHD Cleaning Planner good at?

ADHD Cleaning Planner app icon

ADHD Cleaning Planner is the app we make, so read this section with that in mind. It is built for people with ADHD and breaks each room into small steps. The usual rooms come with tasks already filled in, and a quick house setup asks how many bathrooms and bedrooms you have and whether you have an office, so you are not building the plan task by task before you have cleaned anything. Each day you pick low, some or full energy, and the plan is sized to match.

Where Sweepy works out what is due, ADHD Cleaning Planner puts more weight on the moment you have to begin. A "Help, I can't start!" button gives you a countdown and motivation for the room you picked, and a Quick Win offers one small task, such as making the bed or wiping the sink. To keep going once you have started, there is a timer, before and after photos, timelapse videos you can record while you clean, daily reminders and ten levels, from Soggy Sponge to Vibey Vacuum. There is no account to create: your data stays on the device, with optional iCloud sync between your own devices. You can pay by subscription, with a free trial on the yearly plan, or with a one-time lifetime purchase.

Less good: it is small and new next to Sweepy, with about a hundred ratings on each store against many thousands, so there is far less public feedback to go on. And it is a plan for one person, which we come back to below.

Best for: people with ADHD who clean on their own and whose problem is not being able to start cleaning at all, rather than knowing what to clean.

How do Sweepy and ADHD Cleaning Planner differ day to day?

The biggest practical difference is what the app does for you when you open it. Sweepy looks at the state of your rooms and hands each person in the house a schedule for the day. ADHD Cleaning Planner asks how much energy you have, sizes your plan to that, and then tries to get you through the first two minutes, with a countdown, a Quick Win or a timer.

The second difference is who the plan is for. Sweepy is built around a household: shared rooms, a schedule per member, and a leaderboard. ADHD Cleaning Planner is built around one person. That makes it simpler to set up, but it also means it cannot divide anything between people.

The third is how you pay. Both apps are free to download. Sweepy sells a monthly or yearly subscription. ADHD Cleaning Planner sells a subscription as well, and also a one-time lifetime purchase, which matters if you would rather not pay every month. If ADHD is your main reason for choosing, we also judged four apps on starting, setup and bad days in which cleaning app works best with ADHD.

Where ADHD Cleaning Planner falls short

The one limitation that matters most here is household sharing. ADHD Cleaning Planner has no way to invite a partner, split chores between people or give each person their own daily plan. Its iCloud sync only keeps your own devices in step. Sharing the work is exactly what Sweepy is built for, so if you want the whole household in one plan, Sweepy will serve you better than our app.

Which one should you choose?

  • You share a home and want the chores split between people: Sweepy, which makes a daily schedule for each person.
  • A leaderboard would get your household moving: Sweepy.
  • You live alone, have ADHD and starting is the hard part: ADHD Cleaning Planner, which we make.
  • Your energy changes a lot from day to day, or you want to pay once: ADHD Cleaning Planner, with its energy setting and lifetime purchase.

Both are free to download, so you can try each before you pay. Set up one or two rooms first rather than the whole house, so you find out what the free version covers before you have spent an evening on it. If neither fits, we also compared five Sweepy alternatives.
